The Consultant’s Take
Best Fit For:
US-university-track families who want full Advanced Placement rigour (16 AP subjects plus the AP Capstone) without the IB’s breadth requirements, in a small, tight-knit community, with a mandatory Outdoor Education and Leadership Programme that includes a week-long overseas Service in Action expedition. Note: AIS is AP-only and does not offer the IB Diploma, the most common misconception about the school.
The “Insider” Tip:
Admissions are rolling and first-come-first-served against small class sizes, and every applicant sits an entrance test, so early application and genuine test-prep both matter more here than at date-only-waitlist schools. Budget beyond tuition: the overseas Service in Action trips and activity fees are required before registration completes.
