The Consultant’s Take

Best Fit For:

Australian and New Zealand families, and anyone on the Australian university track, since AISHK is the only school in Hong Kong delivering the Australian curriculum and the only one offering the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) as a senior alternative to the IB Diploma. Its January-to-December calendar is unique here and removes the lost half-year when relocating to or from the southern hemisphere.

The “Insider” Tip:

Passport is a formal lever: priority goes to siblings and Australian or New Zealand passport holders, so those families should foreground it. Everyone else faces a strictly date-ordered waitlist that opens up to two years before entry, so lodge the application the moment that window opens. Students transferring from Australian schools typically skip the assessment.
