The Consultant’s Take
Best Fit For:
Families wanting a bilingual, values-driven Christian education without HKIS or CIS-tier fees, in a diverse community of around 1,700 pupils. CAIS runs an unusual dual structure, the Alberta (Canada) curriculum plus Advanced Placement alongside the IB Diploma, with Traditional-character Chinese woven through. Not for families wanting a secular environment or a pure PYP and MYP IB continuum.
The “Insider” Tip:
The priority ladder genuinely rewards Christian-affiliated families: corporate-note nominees first, then non-local passport holders, faculty children, pastoral and missionary families, siblings and alumni, and parents are interviewed. The catch is capital: entry needs either a HK$560,000 Individual Capital Note or roughly HK$28,000 a year in capital levy, and applying before the autumn priority-testing deadlines materially affects your testing slot.
