The Consultant’s Take
Best Fit For:
Families wanting an ESF-style inquiry education with a private school’s autonomy, all-through Year 1 to 13 in Ma On Shan. RCHK is the only school in the ESF family running the full four-programme IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP and the career-related IBCP), and that IBCP stream is its distinctive edge, a credible route for capable students who are not a pure-academic Diploma fit. Not for families wanting British GCSE and A-Level structure or didactic teaching.
The “Insider” Tip:
The Individual Nomination Right for RCHK is HK$400,000, cheaper than the HK$500,000 for mainstream ESF schools, and it buys interview priority, not a place, ranking after corporate, foundation-partner, staff and existing-ESF-sibling nominees, and still conditional on passing the English assessment. Critically, Year 1 and Year 7 nomination applications are processed in random order by application day, not first-come-first-served, so getting in on day one of the September window matters more than the hour. Do not confuse it with the separate building levy, which confers no priority.
