Results from the May 2026 IB Diploma examinations were released to schools on Sunday 5 July and to students on Monday 6 July. Hong Kong has once again ranked among the strongest IB jurisdictions in the world. The city’s 2026 average came in at 37.02 across 2,912 candidates, an 11% larger cohort than last year, well above the global average of 30.88.

At least 73 Hong Kong students from 17 schools scored a perfect 45 in the July count, and results upgraded on review since then have pushed the real tally higher.

Is this ranking official?
No. It is an unofficial league table compiled from schools’ self-reported average IBDP scores, provided as a guide for parents. The IB does not publish an official ranking of schools.
This league table is unofficial and compiled from schools' own published figures. Where a school reports a range or a "percentage scoring 40+" rather than a single average, that is noted. Every figure is dated; early perfect-score counts are provisional and tend to rise through July.
