Kellett's Sixth Form Centre at The Bay Hub
To provide its most senior learners with an optimal, pre-university environment, Kellett School is launching a bespoke Sixth Form Centre set to open in August 2026. The current Year 11 and 12 students will have the honor of being the inaugural cohort to relocate to this dedicated space.
Location: The Bay Hub, Kai Cheung Road, Kai Tak
Size & Capacity: Spanning 40,000 square feet (3,716 square metres) across two floors, the centre is designed to accommodate 240 students.
Design & Theme: Drawing inspiration from its location in Kowloon Bay—formerly the home of Kai Tak Airport—the centre's design beautifully reflects a "lift-off" experience, symbolizing the students' imminent departure into adulthood and higher education. The layout was heavily informed by extensive university visits conducted by the Sixth Form team.
Key Facilities: * University-Style Learning: The facility boasts over a dozen classrooms, a small lecture theatre, exam rooms, and dedicated Higher Education counselling spaces.
The Harkness Room: A specialized space for discursive humanities lessons, designed to mimic the intimate, small-group tutor sessions found at top universities.
PE Theory Classroom: A unique room fully equipped with cutting-edge fitness monitoring technology.
State-of-the-Art Study & Social Zones: Areas purposefully built for both deep independent study and collaborative group work.
The "Best of Both" Worlds: While they gain their own independent space, Sixth Formers will remain deeply integrated with the main KLB Campus. Students will still cross the footbridge for lunch, sports, and specialist subjects like Science, Art, Music, Design Technology, and Media.
Looking Ahead: Mark Stacey, Head of Sixth Form, notes that this arrangement ensures students get a university-style environment while maintaining the "community and leadership opportunities that come from being part of a larger school." Furthermore, this expansion allows Kellett to steadily increase its total school roll to 1,620 students (adding 60 new spots) by 2027.

Stamford American International School Hong Kong: The "University-Style" Hub
Stamford American International School has entirely reimagined the high school experience with the launch of its new West Kowloon campus. The campus has been purpose-built to foster a university-style learning environment that emphasizes student self-management, collaboration, and deep focus.
Location: G/F to 2/F, Imperial Cullinan, 10 Hoi Fai Road, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon
Size & Capacity: The facility spans 75,000 square feet and has a maximum capacity of 630 high school students. It is currently operating at one-third of its capacity.
Grades Served: The campus is dedicated exclusively to High School students from G9-G12.
Curriculum: Students graduate with an American High School Diploma and have the option to take full International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) courses.
Key Features: * University-Style Independence: Operating on an innovative "no-bell schedule," classroom clocks are synchronized with computer systems to help students transition naturally between sessions and build time-management skills. The school has also implemented a smartphone-free lunch period to encourage authentic social connection.
Well-being & Focus: The campus features circadian lighting in the classrooms—bright in the morning and warmer later in the day—along with professional acoustic treatments to create a quiet, concentration-enhancing environment.
Learning Communities: Traditional classrooms have been replaced by three levels of collaborative "Learning Communities". The spaces feature moveable furniture, ergonomic seating, and entire walls of dry-erase whiteboards for brainstorming.
Specialized Facilities: The campus is heavily equipped for STEMinn (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Innovation) with four science laboratories and three design and technology labs. Arts and wellness are supported by two visual arts studios, two drama studios, a black box theatre, a music wing with six practice rooms, a gym, and a Pilates studio.
